The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stated that due to a fault in the submarine cable, temporary bandwidth has been included in the system. According to a press release issued by PTA, a fault occurred in the AA-E1 submarine cable system on January 2. In response to the fault, temporary bandwidth arrangements were made and incorporated into the system. The release further stated that there is no degradation of internet services across the country at this time. PTA is continuously monitoring the restoration process of the AA-E1 submarine cable and remains committed to ensuring the availability of all services during this period.
Minister of State for Information Technology Shiza Fatima has stated that a fault in the AA-E1 cable has affected 1000 gigabytes per second of data traffic. In a statement issued from Islamabad, the Minister of State responded to the issue of internet services being disrupted due to a fault in the global submarine cable. She mentioned that the fault in the AA-E1 cable has impacted 1000 gigabytes per second of data traffic, and 630 gigabytes per second of traffic has been diverted to an alternative route. Shiza Fatima further stated that the remaining 200 gigabytes per second of traffic will be quickly shifted to an alternative route.
