LAHORE   (   WEB  NEWS  )

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Pakistan’s 250 million people stand with the Kashmiris until the dawn of Kashmir’s freedom. He said that Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed across the country on today (Wednesday). Under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami, rallies and marches will be held in provincial and district headquarters, as well as in small and large cities, to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

In a statement issued from Mansoorah, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, a Kashmir March was held at Azadi Chowk in Muzaffarabad. The following day, on Monday, Jamaat-e-Islami organized a National Kashmir Conference in Islamabad, he said.

He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to remind the government of Pakistan not to abandon the Kashmiris. He criticized the fact that Pakistan is being drawn into conflict with Afghanistan under a certain agenda while discussions about friendship and trade with India are taking place. He declared that Jamaat-e-Islami would oppose any relations with India until Kashmiris are granted their right to self-determination and urged the government to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) on the Kashmir issue.

Furthermore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced that he would address the Kashmir Solidarity Rally on Mall Road in Lahore, where he would also present the future course of action for the ongoing protest movement against expensive electricity and the IPPs (Independent Power Producers) mafia.

He urged Pakistanis to come out in large numbers and express their love for the Kashmiris. He emphasized that Kashmir is Pakistan’s ideological, geographical, and economic lifeline, and the completion of Pakistan’s movement is impossible without the freedom of occupied Kashmir. He also condemned the presence of 1 million occupying Indian troops in the valley, accusing them of committing war crimes, and called on the international community to take notice.

He said that the Kashmir freedom movement is in fact a continuation of the Pakistan movement and a struggle for the completion of Pakistan. He recalled that in 1990, Jamaat-e-Islami played a key role in uniting Pakistan’s political parties and various segments of society to ensure that Kashmir’s freedom fighters were never forgotten to observe February 5 annually as Kashmir Solidarity Day. This decision was made on the proposal of former Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed to observe this day on national level, he said.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that merely assuring political and moral support is not enough to appease the Kashmiris; Kashmir will not be liberated through trade with India. He urged for the Kashmir Committee to be made more effective.

He emphasized that the United Nations Charter grants Kashmiris the right to fight for their freedom. Referring to the example of Palestine, he argued that negotiations do not happen without power and asserted that occupied Kashmir will also be liberated by force. He announced that tomorrow, people across the country will pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami expressed concern over reports of India’s intelligence agency RAW carrying out operations inside Pakistan and questioned why the government remains silent on Indian terrorism. He also mentioned ongoing discussions about former General (retd) Bajwa allegedly making compromises on Kashmir and called on the Foreign Office to clarify the matter.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people cannot be ignored under any circumstances. He accused the Indian government of violating human rights not only in occupied Kashmir but also within India itself. He condemned India’s continuous suppression of Kashmiri voices and its disregard for United Nations resolutions. He urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility in ensuring Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
