The President PTCL, Mr. Walid Irshaid called on Minister of State for Information Technology, Ms. Anusha Rahman in her office to congratulate her on assuming charge as Minister. They discussed matters of mutual interest. The Minister stressed the necessity of turning the current ICT sector from a purely consumer market towards local manufacturing in accordance with the needs of the industry. The Minister expressed her Party desire to enhance foreign direct investment in Pakistan and create more opportunities, moving towards local manufacturing of products and equipment in Pakistan through Public private partnership. The President PTCL welcomed this approach of the Government of Pakistan and ensured cooperation for all positive steps taken by the Government of Pakistan in this regard.
