When you approach & accept conditions of IMF then your security is compromised somewhere: PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the public version of the first-ever National Security Policy of Pakistan, in Islamabad on Friday.
Addressing the launch ceremony, PM Imran Khan said this all-encompassing policy will provide direction on all dimensions of national security.
The Prime Minister said security of a country is linked to its economic security, and the National Security Policy will help ensure inclusive growth in the country, leading every sector to one direction. He said that when you approach and accept the conditions of IMF then your security is compromised somewhere. He said in past when the growth rate went up then the current account deficit started and pressure came on the rupee and when rupee price of rupee falls then you have to approach the IMF.
PM Imran Khan said that when you approach IMF in difficult time then you will have to accept the conditions of IMF. He said that the security not necessarily the security forces but security meaning that you will have to put burden on the people, adding that your biggest security is the one when the masses stand with you that is the actual security, when the masses become the stakeholder to save the country.
He said security of a citizen in all aspects is a responsibility and a priority of a state; and the same is the concept of a welfare state.
The Prime Minister said on the pattern of the State of Madina, the PTI government has been endeavoring to serve people through multiple initiatives like universal health insurance, Ehsaas Programme, single national curriculum and the struggle for rule of law.
Imran Khan said each family in the provinces being governed by the PTI will have health cards by March this year to have free medical facility up to one million rupees annually. He said the initiative of developing single national curriculum will greatly contribute to achieving national cohesion.
He said the incentives being provided to the business community resulted in enhancement of exports, and seventy percent increase has been witnessed in IT exports. The Prime Minister said 10 new dams are being constructed which will help ensure water security.
He said the government’s initiatives aimed at mitigating effects of climate change are being acknowledged at international level. He said the measures for uplifting the downtrodden segments of society and the backward areas will also contribute to inclusive growth in the country.
Earlier, explaining salient features of the National Security Policy, National Security Advisor Dr. Moeed Wasim Yusuf said this is a consensus umbrella document to provide guidance on every dimension of national security.
He said the comprehensive document has been prepared with input from all the relevant federal government departments, provincial governments and experts. He said economic security has been defined in the policy, whose ultimate purpose is safety, security, dignity and prosperity of citizens.
Moeed Yusuf said the policy focuses on good governance, education, geo-economics and human security. He said an implementation framework has also been prepared to ensure execution of the document.
The main sections of the document include National Security Framework, National Cohesion, Securing Our Economic Future, Defence and Territorial Integrity, Internal Security, Foreign Policy in a Changing World and Human Security.
