Lars Christian Luel Ceo Telenor met with Federal Secretary Information Technology Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar and Federal Minister State Anusha Rehman Khan. There was no specific agenda of the meeting nor there any discussion on telecom sector. Delegation that was headed by the CEO Telenor stayed at the Ministry more than hour during which similar interest of bilateral nature were discussed.
Confirmed sources at Ministry of Telecom told Telco Alert that this visit by the Telenor company is to promote relationship with PML N. This seems prudent since in the elections in which PML N secured majority the telecom company was giving impression to PML N that it was supporting Imran Khan through its promotional activities. These activities were addressed towards the youth segment of the market which simultaneously was being aggressively focused by Imran Khan led PTI during the elections.
Today’s meeting was held to negate this impression and to foster relationship between Telenor Pakistan and PML N. Federal Secretary Information Ikhlaq Ahmad Tarar who hails from Punjab and has close relationship with PML N central circle. its great drive from Telenor to change opinion of mass.
