A business delegation of Kyrgyzstan led by Dzhunushaliev Aibek, Head of the Department for Controlling the Execution of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) to explore business partnerships with the business community of Islamabad. H.E. Totuiaev Ulanbek Asankulovich, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan also accompanied the delegation. The delegation was representing various sectors including mining, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, chemicals, food processing & products, construction materials, logistics, IT & telecom, shipbuilding, renewable energy, metallurgy, gold, sugar, ventilation equipment etc.
Speaking at the occasion, Dzhunushaliev Aibek, Head of delegation said that Kyrgyzstan is determined to promote business & economic relations with Pakistan on a sustained basis as both countries have good potential to cooperate with each other in many sectors of the economy. He stressed that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan should create working groups on business that should work for optimization of the legal framework for providing the private sectors easy access to each other’s market. He said that the Kyrgyzstan business delegation has come to Pakistan to explore business partnerships with Pakistani counterparts in areas of interest.
H.E. Totuiaev Ulanbek Asankulovich, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan said that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan are enjoying friendly relations and his government wants to promote cooperation with Pakistan in all fields. He said that his embassy would cooperate in the initiatives for promoting business linkages between the private sectors of both countries.
Speaking at the occasion, Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan can cooperate in many sectors including minerals & mining, agriculture, industry, energy and tourism. He said that the geographical location of both countries offers them good potential to increase collaboration and play a role in promoting trade connectivity in their respective regions and markets. He said that Pakistan can provide Kyrgyzstan easy access to many promising markets including the Middle East, South Asia and China. Similarly, Kyrgyzstan can provide Pakistan easy access to the Central Asian States. Therefore, strong trade and economic relations would be very beneficial for both countries and regions. He said that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan are currently doing trade in limited items and they should focus on diversification of trade to achieve better results. He said that many Pakistani products including marble & granite, fruits & vegetables, construction material and others can find good market in Kyrgyzstan.
Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh Senior Vice President ICCI, Tariq Sadiq President Islamabad Industrial Association, Nasir Qureshi, Sanaullah Khan, Fasee Ullah Khan and others also spoke at the occasion and showed interest to set up business collaborations with the business community of Kyrgyzstan in areas of interest.
