Prime Minister Shehbaz Urges UAE To Facilitate Talks On Indian-Held Kashmir
ISLAMABAD ( JAVED MAHMOOD )
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the UAE leadership to broker Pak-India bilateral talks on Indian-occupied Kashmir.
He said that UAE leadership can play a vital role in facilitating talks between the two countries.
Premier stated this in an interview to Al-Arabiya TV channel.
“My message to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that let us sit down on the table and have sincere talks to resolve our burning issues like Kashmir,” Sharif added.
Shehbaz Sharif said, “India had usurped any semblance of autonomy, given to the Kashmiris according to Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, as the autonomy was revoked in August 2019.”
In India, minorities are being persecuted, said PM, adding India should give up this and send a message to the world that the country (India) is ready for talks.
India and Pakistan are neighbours and they have to live with each other.
PM Shehbaz said, “It is up to us to live peacefully and make progress or quarrel with each other, and waste time and resources. We have three wars with India and it only brought more misery, poverty and unemployment. We want to live in peace in case we are able to resolve our crucial problems. We want to alleviate poverty, achieve prosperity, and provide education and health facilities and employment to our people.”
Premier further said, “We are nuclear powers, and if a war breaks out, who will live to tell the world what happened.”
PM Shehbaz Sharif termed UAE a second home for Pakistanis and a trusted friend of Pakistan.
