Commission approved Constitutional Benches in Sindh High Court. The third meeting of the Judicial Commission constituted was held in the Supreme Court

The third meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan constituted under the 26th Constitutional Amendment was held in the Supreme Court on 25.11.2024 at 1400hrs. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, Chief Justice of Pakistan/Chairman of the Judicial Commission to consider a single point agenda of formation of Constitutional Benches within the High Court of Sindh. It was attended by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar (via video link), Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, Chief Justice High Court of Sindh, Mr. Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto Senior Puisne Judge High Court of Sindh, Mr. Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice; Mr. Mansoor Usman Awan, Attorney-General for Pakistan; Senator Farooq Hamid Naek; Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Member of the National Assembly; Ms. Roshan Khurshid Barucha, Mr. Zia ul Hassan Lanjar, Minister of law Government of Sindh, Mr. Akhtar Hussain, Senior Advocate Supreme Court and Qurban Ali Malano, member Sindh Bar Council.

Following an extensive and thoughtful exchange of views, the Commission considered the formation of Constitutional Benches in High Court of Sindh and approved the following names of Judges with a majority of11 to 4 for a period of two months.
