Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that only 12 deaths have been confirmed so far, and all other claims are false and baseless. He also clarified that false rumors were circulating regarding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan, adding that he had not been transferred anywhere and is in good health in Adiala Jail.

Speaking to the media with PTI leaders outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said that he met with the PTI founder after the final call and discussed the party’s protests and related events. He dismissed claims that hundreds of party workers were killed on November 24 in Islamabad, stating that such claims were untrue. He emphasized that PTI is a democratic party that only speaks on verified facts.

He further shared that today, Imran Khan was informed about the deaths of 12 PTI workers and the martyrdom of Rangers and police officers, to which he expressed deep sorrow. Barrister Gohar also mentioned that Imran Khan praised the people who went out to protest and instructed PTI’s members of parliament to raise the issue in the National Assembly and Senate.

He added that PTI members in Punjab had endured difficult times, and the next course of action would be announced by Imran Khan later. He stressed that there should not have been any shootings during the protests. He compared the situation with the 2014 Model Town tragedy, where important figures resigned and participated in inquiries.

Barrister Gohar also assured that there would be no ban on PTI and affirmed that the party is peaceful and holds itself accountable for its actions. He condemned all deaths, regardless of who fired the shots, and criticized the ongoing focus on Sangjani and D-Chowk, which he believed was being used to divert attention from the deaths.

Regarding PTI’s instructions for protests, Barrister Gohar clarified that no such directive had been issued to ensure that every leader must reach D-Chowk under any circumstances. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other figures have been visiting the injured.

Before meeting with Imran Khan in court, Barrister Gohar revealed that the PTI founder had ordered the Sangjani protest to take place 100% peacefully. He also stated that the establishment was not responsible for any of the incidents that occurred in Islamabad.

Imran Khan Changes PTI Representatives in Judicial Commission

Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has made changes to the party’s representatives in the Judicial Commission. According to media reports, Barrister Gohar or Latif Khosa will now represent PTI in the National Assembly instead of Umar Ayub. In the Senate, Barrister Ali Zafar will permanently represent PTI in the Judicial Commission, replacing Shibli Faraz. The changes were made due to the high number of cases against Umar Ayub and Shibli Faraz. Recently, after the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, opposition leaders, including Umar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, were appointed to the Judicial Commission.
