The World Economic Forum has released a report on Pakistan’s economic situation, stating that Pakistan is one of the most environmentally affected countries. According to the report issued by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Islamabad on January 15, 2025, 2025 has shown a reassuring outlook and confidence in Pakistan, which is part of its annual global risk assessment. This report is based on surveys conducted with over 900 experts and 11,000 executive opinions globally. In Pakistan, Mishal Pakistan conducted a detailed executive opinion survey (EOS) from February to June 2024, incorporating the views of business leaders in the country.

The Global Risk Report provides a detailed analysis of geographical, economic, environmental, social, and technological challenges in shaping global and regional scenarios. Like other developing economies, Pakistan faces complex risks, and strategic flexibility and innovation in policies are essential to address them. The report warns that inflation, currency depreciation, and growing debt burdens could weaken Pakistan’s economy, affecting investment confidence and development prospects. However, the country has demonstrated remarkable resilience in recent years and has effectively managed its economic challenges.

Pakistan is one of the most environmentally affected countries, where recurring floods, heatwaves, and water scarcity pose risks to food security, infrastructure stability, and people’s employment. CEO of Mishal Private Limited, Aamir Jahangir, stated that Pakistan has consistently shown resilience amid global uncertainty, and the 2025 Global Risk Report highlights both our challenges and opportunities as we move forward through economic changes, environmental adaptation, and technological development. He further added that Pakistan can become more resilient by promoting innovation, strengthening governance, and enhancing regional cooperation. Our future depends on how we turn risks into opportunities. With the right policies and collective determination, Pakistan can position itself as a significant player in the emerging global economy.
