Mobile phone companies have managed to re-verify 70 million SIMs during the SIM re-verification drive, while another 10.96 million SIMs were disowned by customers.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that these 80 million processed SIMs (reverified, disowned or blocked).
Latest information reveled that Mobilink get 19 million Sims verified Telenor 18 Million Zong 13 Million Ufone 11.3 million and Warid at 8.7 Million.
According to these stats from PTA, 23 million SIMs (out of 103 total million SIMs) are yet to be re-verified and mobile phone companies have almost 29 days remaining to get these pending SIMs re-verified or they will get blocked after the deadline of April 14th, 2015.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that it is contented with the performance of mobile phone companies. Regulator has already termed re-verification of SIMs, one of its kind registration process for SIMs, a successful campaign.
In addition to this, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has arranged a meeting with the CEO’s of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMO) tomorrow to discuss the upcoming auction, as well as the progress of biometric verification of SIMs.
Telecommunication regulatory authority of Pakistan (PTA) has just updated the statistics regarding the 3G and 4G services according to which, the cellular operators have successfully crossed 10 million mark for 3G subscribers. Thus, the total number of next-generation mobile service (NGMS) users are 10,342,191 by February 2015.
According to this data, the users of 4G services are around 68,000 out of which Warid has secured some 61,000 while Zong possesses over 7000 4G subscribers.
